South West loop (from D & G's)

Difficulty:Easy
Distance:35 kms

Description:From Southland & 14th St head east down Southland to the Bow River (dogland). Head south along the Bow River Pathway to Fish Creek Park. Stay in the park all the way to the west end and climb at the new path at 37th. Continue south until the Oakridge path, turn east and return to starting point.

South East loop (from D & G's)

Description:Starting at Southland and 14th St SW, head east along Southland to dogland. Cross the bridge and head north along the Bow River. Where the rivers converge, head back south along the Elbow to Sandy Beach. Cross the Glemore Dam and follow the Reservoir path to Glenmore landing. Cross 14th St at 90th and return to the starting point.

Description:start at dillan's place on memorial and 14th NW. proceed on bow river system to bowness park, cross bow river under stoney tr. bridge, go up the mutha of mofos, follow bikepath signs up through silver springs, cross crowchild trail at nosehill dr. (passing crowfoot shopping centre), go up nosehill drive to country hill boulevard, proceed eastward from here (sidewalk recommended) to barlow tr. NE., turn south, stop at the international airport for a break. after the break, start heading south on airport rd. which turns into 19th St. NE, keep going south till you reach the barlow/max bell lrt station. ride through the station to reconnect with the bow river path system. when you get to 17th St. SE connect onto the WID bike path. ride south till you get to the Blackfoot Inn. at shepard road turn left and go through the neighborhood of riverbend. cross the bow river at the carburn park bridge to dogland. go south to connect with the fish creek system. ride till you get to the parking lot at the end of elbow drive. follow elbow dr. to dave's house. ride along 14th St. SW to the glenmore landing shopping centre. connect onto the glenmore bike path system. proceed north, over the dam, and onto 20th St SW. go north, following the path signs, past my favourite ice cream shoppe, past marda loop, past the kid's hospital, through scarboro, and connect with 14th St NW. go straight to dillan's for a beer.

West-Central

Difficulty:Moderate

Description:Start at Southland/14 St ride along 14th to Glenmore Landing (procure lunch). Follow the Glenmore path across the dam and cut across to Altadore. Ride north on 16th to 26th Ave. Go west to Sev and pick up additional rider(s). Head straight west on 26th all the way to 45th St. Head north until you cross Bow trail then jog west to the entrance of Edworthy park. If the rocks at the side of the road do not meet your seating requirements, descend the hill (you'll be sorry). Have lunch and psych yourself up for the long climb out. Head west at the top and continue climbing into Strathcona. Turn right onto Strathcona Drive and keep climbing. When you reach a T intersection turn right and keep climbing to the lights at Strathcona Blvd (which will be come 69th St) Keep climbing for about 1 more block then just hang on and steer all the way down to New Discovery on the south side of Glenmore Tr. Ride the paths in Griffiths Wood park and have a snack by the Elbow. Return up out of the river valley the way you came, cross Glenmore and take the first right off 69th. This will turn into a path that goes straight east through to Signal Hill Centre. Dodge the traffic and ride the path along Richmond Rd to 50th St. Turn south until 46th Ave. Climb east and keep going across 37th. Follow Richardson Way to Richard Road, turn left and cross the overpass to Garrison Woods cut through the park to 20th St. Head south until the Lakeview golf course and turn left. Return along the Glenmore pathway.

Zoo-NoseHill-Confed

Description:From the Zoo follow the Nose Creek pathway to Beddington Tr. Go West to Nose Hill, then follow the pathway around South and West to Confederation Park. Then along the Bow back to the Zoo.




West to BC

Difficulty:Moderate
Distance:75 kms

Description:Take Highway 8 to Bragg Creek. Have ice cream. Return.

North for Climbers

Difficulty:Mofo

Description:Down Southland to Bow, north to EauClaire then back to Nose Creek. North to Beddington, west over Nose Hill to Edgemont. Through Varsity and Silver Springs back to the river. East to Edworthy then up to Strathcona. Down at 69th, through Signal Hill and home through west end of weaselhead. At least 7 good climbs!
